The National Police have arrested three people for their alleged involvement in a series of twelve break-ins at restaurants in the Los Cristianos area, in the south of Tenerife.

The investigation began in mid-August after police noticed a rise in burglaries targeting hospitality businesses in a specific part of the town. All the robberies were carried out in the same way, the suspects forced open metal shutters before crawling through the gap to enter the premises.

Detectives quickly identified one man as the main suspect, believed to have taken part in all twelve incidents. In two of the break-ins, he was reportedly assisted by another, who acted as a lookout.

A third person was later linked to one of the robberies, who was found to have several previous convictions for similar offences. Investigators believe he was staying in the south of the island only sporadically.

Once the suspects were identified and sufficient evidence gathered, officers launched an operation that led to the arrest of all three individuals.

With these arrests, the National Police have closed the investigation and reinforced their commitment to public safety in one of Tenerife’s main tourist areas.
