A new holiday complex with 92 apartments is set to be built in the Barranco de Balito area of Mogán, Gran Canaria, as part of a €10 million investment project aimed at revitalising the area, according to developer Grupo Meridional.

The project, named Vista Balito, will feature apartments averaging 55 square metres, each with private terraces, as well as adapted units for people with reduced mobility.

The development will include communal leisure spaces such as a swimming pool, solarium, and an underground car park with 92 spaces.

A boost for tourism and development

Grupo Meridional stated that the initiative seeks to “reactivate both the urban and tourist potential of the area,” adding that the development aligns with Mogán’s continued growth as a prime coastal tourism destination in the south of Gran Canaria.

Urbanisation works for the site are currently being carried out by Montebalito, the company responsible for preparing the land, a necessary step before construction can begin, which is scheduled for early 2027.

Meanwhile, sales for the development have already generated strong demand. The first phase of 28 units has completely sold out, and the second phase of 32 apartments was officially launched for sale this week. A third and final phase is expected to follow in due course.

Expanding presence in Mogán

Grupo Meridional currently holds over 50,000 square metres of land across the Canary Islands for future residential, hotel, and commercial projects. Among its most notable assets are the Iberia Building in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, used for offices, and the Marina Élite Hotel, a four-star resort with 265 rooms, also located in the Balito area of Mogán.

Local officials have welcomed the project as a sign of investor confidence in the region’s tourism-led economy, which continues to recover and modernise following the pandemic.

With panoramic views of the coast and a design focused on comfort and sustainability, Vista Balito is expected to become a new benchmark for high-quality tourist accommodation in Mogán, one of Gran Canaria’s most visited municipalities by both international and domestic travellers.
