Emergency services were called to Playa Jardín in Puerto de la Cruz yesterday afternoon (Saturday) after a 38-year-old man was pulled from the water showing signs of moderate drowning.
The Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) received an alert at around 2:25pm, requesting medical assistance for a swimmer rescued by the beach’s lifeguards.
CECOES immediately activated the necessary emergency resources. Medical Personnel took over from the lifeguards providing on-site treatment before transferring the man by ambulance to Hospiten Bellevue for further care.
Authorities have not released further details about his condition. The incident serves as a reminder for bathers to exercise caution, especially when swimming in areas with changing sea conditions.
