Two 14-year-old boys caught attempting to rob a house in south Tenerife
Two 14-year-old boys have been detained by the Local Police of Arona after being caught red-handed attempting to rob a home in a residential area in the south of Tenerife.
The incident took place on Wednesday when nearby residents noticed the pair climbing the perimeter wall of a private property in order to break inside. Their quick reaction in alerting the police was crucial to the immediate resolution of the incident.
The owner of the property confirmed his intention to file a formal complaint, so officers subsequently informed the boys’ parents and referred the case to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office.
The two teenagers were taken to a medical centre for assessment before being transferred to police headquarters for further processing.
Arona Town Hall praised the vigilance and swift action of local residents, underlining the importance of community cooperation in both preventing and tackling crime. Authorities stressed that without the neighbours’ rapid warning, a prompt and effective police response would not have been possible.
