Driver killed after car overturns in Fuerteventura
A man has died following a tragic road accident shortly after midnight last night (Saturday morning), when his car overturned on the FV-104 road near Parque Holandés, heading towards Puerto del Rosario in Fuerteventura.
According to the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES), the incident occurred at 12:15 am. Firefighters from La Oliva freed the driver, who had become trapped inside the vehicle after it overturned.
SUC medical personnel were dispatched to the location given, and paramedics assessed the man on arrival, but were unable to save his life, as he had sustained fatal injuries.
The Guardia Civil took charge of the body until a coroner gave permission for it to be taken for official identification and autopsy.
They have also taken charge of the investigation and are preparing the corresponding accident report.
