Maritime Rescue teams have saved 30 migrants of North African origin who were travelling in a small inflatable boat around 30 kilometres off the coast of Arrecife, Lanzarote.
The rescue operation was coordinated by the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) after the vessel was detected in the early hours of this morning (Saturday).
A maritime rescue vessel was dispatched to the area and successfully brought all occupants to safety. The migrants disembarked at Puerto Naos just after midday, where emergency teams were on standby to provide first aid, medical checks, and humanitarian assistance.
Authorities have not yet released details on the condition of those rescued, but the emergency response remains active as part of the ongoing migrant arrival operations across the Canary Islands.
