The Canary Islands can expect a mix of cloudy skies and the chance of light showers this Wednesday, according to forecasts from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).
In the north of the larger islands, occasional weak rainfall is possible, while elsewhere skies will be clearer. Temperatures will remain stable, with highs of up to 28°C, and light to moderate northeasterly winds in the western islands, shifting northerly in the east.
Stronger gusts are forecast at times in the southeast and northwest of the mountainous islands, while the southwest coasts may see gentle breezes.
At sea, northerly and northeasterly winds will range from force 4 to 6, bringing rough seas and swells of between one and two metres.
LANZAROTE:
In Lanzarote, it will be cloudy in the north during the morning before clearing by midday, with maximum temperatures of 28°C in Arrecife.
FUERTEVENTURA:
Fuerteventura will also see more cloud in the north with brighter spells later, reaching 26°C in Puerto del Rosario.
GRAN CANARIA:
Gran Canaria will be cloudier in the north, where light rain is possible in the morning and evening, while the south and west will be mostly clear with the chance of an isolated shower inland during the afternoon; highs will reach 25°C.
TENERIFE:
Tenerife will begin with cloudy conditions in the north and the chance of light showers before skies brighten through the afternoon. In the south and west, some afternoon cloud build-up could bring isolated showers, with highs of 26°C.
Meanwhile, meteorologists continue to monitor Hurricane Gabrielle in the Atlantic and its potential impact on Spain, although it currently poses no immediate threat to the Canary Islands.
