Two consecutive flight emergencies at Tenerife South need police and medical intervention
Air traffic controllers have confirmed that two consecutive flights bound for Tenerife South Airport faced emergencies yesterday, Friday, forcing the mobilisation of police officers and emergency medical teams waiting for them to land.
The first aircraft, an Aer Lingus flight from Dublin, had to request immediate police intervention on landing due to unruly passengers on board.
The situation was considered serious enough that the crew reported it directly to air traffic control and called for assistance as soon as the plane touched down.
Medical emergency on Manchester flight
Just minutes later, another flight, this time an EasyJet flight from Manchester, landed with a passenger in need of urgent medical treatment. Emergency health teams were deployed on arrival to provide assistance.
Air traffic controllers reported via their official account on X that routes were adjusted and the necessary coordination between police, medical services, and airport staff was activated to handle both incidents smoothly.
These back-to-back emergencies highlight the wide range of situations handled daily by Tenerife South Airport, one of the busiest gateways to the Canary Islands for international visitors.
